Welcome to St. James Senior Estates (SJSE), a brand-new, maintenance-free and secure place to live that's an affordable housing option for age- and income-qualified seniors. SJSE also has limited market rate opportunities.

St. James Senior Estates, located in Crete, Ill., officially opened its door in fall 2006. It is the first affordable housing community to be developed by St. Joseph Senior Housing and the Franciscan Sisters of Chicago Service Corporation (FSCSC), which also manages Franciscan Communities and its 16 senior living communities. FSCSC has provided quality care, housing and community-based services for over 110 years. SJSE was developed with special attention given to every detail so that each of our residents can live life to the fullest affordably.

Through the support of the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), SJSE offers you spacious apartments and generous amenities that can provide you with everything you need to enjoy life. Plus, we reduce your burdens by offering maintenance-free living. No more lawns to mow, snow to shovel, leaves to rake or costly and time-consuming home repairs to make.

In order to qualify, you must be age 62 or older and earn between 30 and 60 percent of the median income for Will County.
